For those of you who have installed 35" tires on a JK and have the manual transmission and 4:10 gearing did you lose 6th gear after making this switch. When I say lose I mean 6th now only good at REALLY high speed (+70) on the road. Or, if someone knows what RPM you are running now at 60 that would be helpful too. Do you feel like you need a re-gear? Yes, I know that there are calculators for this but I prefer to hear from people who have experienced this. Thanks !

I have this setup. i get into 6th spd at about 60 mph. however if there is any upward climb of the road, even a very slight grade, or even a strong headwind then it just seems to die and I have to go back down to 5th.

^ Agree with the above. Really drives just fine, and i usually drive around in 6th when cruising at any speed above 35-40 mph. Generally shift into 6th when accelerating on the highway at about 50 or so. At 60 (which without cal reads about 55-56 on speedo) 2k sounds about right. But def have to downshift to 5th if you get into any hilly terrain, or get a major head wind.

same as above. more downshifting is needed but by no means have i lost 6th gear. works just fine offroad when in 4lo. dont waste your time with regearing unless you plan to do 5.13s/or plan to go bigger than 35s.

I also didn't really notice a MPG loss or gain after 35's. It usually is around 17 to 19 depending. I didn't loose 6th at all it just feels like u got a few extra lbs of weight in it.

I agree, I go into 6th gear only at upper high way speeds when the RPM's are high enough. It is also a slug off the line. Im getting about 15 mpg. I have a set of 4.88's sitting in the garage waiting to be put in.

I also agree with this. Just got back from Colorado and and to down shift into 3rd just to get up over the mountains on I-70....this sucked so bad! Does great off-road though.

IMO 4.88s would be the way to go if you never ever plan on upgrading to 37s. if you think you might then go with 5.13s. no sense opening up your diff and re-gearing twice when 5.13s work well with 35s and 37s.
