Default removing the spare tire and bracket completely

So i have big tires and don't feel like spending the extra money for a big spare tire. Of course this leaves me with a tiny little spare that is worthless. So I am looking to remove the whole spare tire and the bracket completely... has anyone done this ? pictures?? there is some sort of rectangle under everything that looks like you could possibly relocate the third break light too.. ?? anyone know what that is about? Any help would be appreciated!

yes it can be done, but you would need to find covers for all the holes that are left after removing the spare holder.

AHHH thanks!!

What is that rectangle in the middle?? Could the third brake light be mounted there?? I guess you just disconnected the third brake light all together..

that is exactly what i did about a year ago, and love it. more visibility out of the back, and alot less weight to carrier around all day. I do put the spare on a trailer when we wheel, and keep it at "base camp" just in case. As for the 3rd brake light check this link out....

I'd go with WOL's suggestion but if your state requires the 3rd light, Warrior Products has a cool plate and light set up I think is around $200. It's a lot I know but a ticket plus court time and eventually getting it corrected would be worth the money upfront.

The rectangle in the middle is a vet. It is designed to allow air to flow from the inside to go out, but the rubber flaps keep the dusty air from coming in from the outside.
