Default Reliable Steering Stabilizer

Hey guys and gals,

I thought I would post this up after having a hard time finding any definitive answers through searches. As trivial as a steering stabilizer is, I'd like to replace mine. My stock one actually held up the longest, then I ran no stabilizer for a while and never had any problems but then installed a pro comp that I got for free from a buddy once I installed my hi steer kit. That one is leaking so I'd like to replace it if for nothing else then to stop that immediate feeling you get in your gut when you see fluid under the front end of the Jeep everytime you go to drive the Jeep. I've heard from several poeple on the forum that they also have had a hard time keeping stabilizers functioning. I've thought about the high pressure Fox stabilizer but I've heard that can give you some weird handling characterists. I've heard mixed reveiws about the TF stabilizer. Realistically, its just a shock. There has got to be one that will last as long as either one of the shocks on each corner of the Jeep. I'm even debating going back to the stock stabilizer as that has given me the best performance thus far.

Any help/recommendations?

Thanks in advance

I had a Bilstein stabilizer once. It looked great and matched my Bilstein shocks. But I hated how it was gas charged and would steer the vehicle to the right if I let go of the steering wheel. I have a ProComp on it right now. Really, it's down to personal choice.

Old Man Emu just released their replacement stabilizer #OMESD48.
Skyjacker is #7003.

I installed the OME about 2 weeks ago, and I haven't had any issues yet... plus it doesn't steer my Jeep for me!

I have the new Fox.

No issues at all, including gas-charge steering. Kinda pricey, though, since they're not on sale any more.

If you liked the stocker, why not go with another one of those? But I don't know what they cost, either.

the cheapest and best way would just go back to oem stabelizer. i mean instead of spending $200 or more on one, and you know that stock one lasted a long time i would just do that. but there are some people out there that think that you HAVE to run an aftermarket one because oem isn't as good. my brother in law is one of those guys, but i just smile and nod.

I've tried a few steering stabilizers and the one I like the most is the factory 2011-Up. Maybe it's just me but, these seem to be beefed up from the original design and so far, seem to work the best even with 37" tires. Bolts right up, offers good dampening, no leaks (so long as I was running it) and it's affordable.

I "liked" Off Road Evolution on Facebook and Mel posts up pics A LOT and a week or two ago he posted a pic of a SS and said that they recommend using the OEM unit. Supposedly switching back to OEM cures a lot of issues folks are having running other aftermarket SS's (pushing right, etc.). Just some food for thought. The only thing is I've been entertaining relocating mine and looked at the JKS relo setup and they say the OEM won't work with theirs due to different sized studs on the brackets. Must just be a bushing size issue ?

Just an FYI, but I used the JeepSWAG relo bracket w/ a 2010 OEM stab with no issues.

I'm prob heading this route now too. I liked the idea of the JKS reinforcing the track bar bracket with the weld on install, but the price point is hard to argue too.
