Default Regearing to 5.13....quoted $1500????

I am fixing to run 37's...got quoted $1500 just for the regear parts and install. Is this common or just plain too high, seems outrageous compared to my $150 Labor charge on my regear on the 69 camaro. I'm in Granbury, tx and if anybody knows of a good shop for classic car work and jeep work...please let me know.

Thanks,
Dev

Default he dront axle

That seam like a good deal. You have 1000.00 in parts and only 500.00 in labor and taxes. The front axle is at least 4-5 hours alone in labor and the back is 2-3 hours more.

I was quoted 1700 for open diffs with 4.88 in Nashville. Needless to say I'm still looking for a better price. The jeep dealership here quoted me 1200 labor only. Want to get this done and probably will pay the price if I don't find better by spring.

If your not a wrench bender then I would also look at axle shaft upgrades to save the labor cost. Ten factory make a good shaft at a good price point.

Y'all are insane! I ordered the master overhaul 4.88 kit from northridge for 500 on black Friday and I'm getting it installed for just under 500 next week

Seems high to me should be around 1200 IMO. gears and overhaul kits are around 550 from from northridge

If I were you I'd pay the extra 150 and get the arb diff covers that are normally 190 a piece!

How much would the shop charge if you bring your own gears and overhaul kits? I paid $700 labor for sleeves, gussets, ball joints, Lower control arm Skids, gears front and rear, and a front locker.

I paid $1500 for g2 4:88's, but I added diff covers and replaced my ball bearings for about $1800 out the door. $1500 seems to be plenty fair these days

I am planning on getting the EVO 44 sleeves and gussets done. We are using the jeep for a toy mainly....not anything crazy crawling like moby though. But on the d30, I'd like the sleeves and gussets for the extra strength running the 37's.

Dev it's been a couple years, but Screamin' Lizard Customs in Bedford (on 183 near Norwood Dr) did my 5.13's for $999 out the door. Talk to Sean.
