Regear 2011 Jeep Wrangler sport 3.21 to 4.56
I have a few question about regearing my 2011 Jeep Wrangler sport. I currently have 3.21 stock gears in a manual transmission with the 3.8l. I’ve order a new spec stage 2 clutch and 4.56 gears plus master over haul kit to replace all the old stock parts. My question is I have been told mixed things about needing carriers for the new gears. Some say I need a carrier for both Dana 30 and 44. Some say I only need carrier for Dana 30. Wanted to know if anyone could help me so that I can buy the correct parts before starting tear down and realizing I don’t have all the parts

That is correct. The JK D30 has a break between the 3.21 and 3.73 ratios, so you will need a new carrier for any ratio from 3.73 to 5.38. The rear D44 carrier is fine for any ratio.
The d30 carrier was $75 bucks at Northridge 4x4 the last time I checked. The other option would be any of the full-case traction devices instead of buying an open carrier. The Detroit Truetrac limited slip is a great option, around $440 these days. And full lockers like ARB, Ox, E-locker, Detroit locker if you want to spend for those types of traction.
