Hi, all -

I知 looking for recommendations for a builder in TX. The long story short is that I have a JKU in Mexico that I壇 like to build up, but shipping parts and finding the right shop is pretty tough. So, I値l drive it to the US to have the work done here.

Would you have a positive experience you could share?

I知 looking to:

- add a lift kit, coilovers, stops, etc.
- install front and rear bumpers (which will take some grinding), and skid plate
- install rock guards
- install a winch
- install a body-mounted tire carrier
- swap out fender flares for tube flares
- install wheel well inner liners
- install corner guards
- replace a light bar (will require a custom bar and custom wiring harness)
- swap wheels/tires
- upgrade brakes
- plus a little bit of interior work

I知 hoping to find someone who of course does great work, but is also brand-agnostic (I have a mix of providers in mind), and is particularly good at suspensions.

This won稚 be a cosmetic build - I知 not doing paint or interior leather. So, it feels to me like a proper offload shop who knows JKs.

Does that sound like someone you致e worked with who you might recommend?

I presume that you're looking to cross the border, not drive half way across the state like to DFW right?

You may not have noticed, Texas is a pretty big state. Do you have specific area in mind?

Am okay to get all the way up to Dallas! I'm starting in southern Mexico... so the added hours in Texas (hopefully) won't make or break the trip!

Marcus Rose, the owner, has been my parts man for years. He is a great guy, and is extremely knowledgeable. I buy all my parts through rivercityoffroad.com. They recently opened a full service shop in Dripping Springs.

I don't trust anyone besides me to work on my Jeep, but I would have no problem letting them turn wrenches for me. Marcus is on the forum here, and is a Jeeper himself. Super good guy.

Y, Marcus is a stand up guy. If you are willing to come to Dallas, I'd say Dallas Offroad. I will admit that the owner is an old friend, Jeff Swope, but they don't mess around and do some serious builds a la engine swaps, full cages, coilovers or ORIs, axle builds, etc. You can check out their Facebook page. Regardless of what you do, I'd suggest contacting a couple people directly and speaking to them to get a good feel for who you're dealing with.
