Default Recenter steering wheel help, ESP light is on

2012 jkur aev 3.5" dual sport lift, 35s

Went wheeling the other day and on the ride home my esp light came on and stayed on, looked at my steering wheel and while the jeep is going straight the wheel isn't. So of course the jeep thinks I'm slipping. I know they're several right up on undoing the dragline turnbuckle to fix this, but my question is would my procal do the same thing? I know they have a recenter steering wheel option if it needs to be done after a lift is installed, I didn't need to use it when I put my lift on. So is it the same thing?

No the procal is a tool to help when you're under the jeep adjusting the draglink. It will light up a turn signal to tell you that you are to far one side or the other, when both light you're centered. I just did this on Saturday.

Does ESP light go off immediately or does it take a few engine cycles?

If your wheel was straight after your lift but is not off-center after wheeling, chances are you bent something underneath like your tie rod. Did you smash it while wheeling?

And as the thoer poster mentioned, Procal will help you center your wheel more easily than without it but you still need to get under and manually adjust the draglink. procal will just give you a readout as to whether or not its centered. Without the procal, it's more of a visual thing and then hope you have good eyes!

Edit** Light should go off after driving it for a bit once its cenetered. It doesn;t go off immediately all the time (sometimes, but not likely).

Drive it around for a while. If it's straight, it will shut off within 10 miles or so. usually....

Default To make the esp bas lights turn off

I had that issue on my 08. To get the lights to go off, follow these procedures. It worked for me several times.

1. start with key off.
2. start engine.
3. turn steering wheel to the left stop then to the right stop.
4. center the steering wheel.
5. turn key off.
6. Start and drive....it should go off when it shifts into 2nd.

If there was damage and/or your steering wheel is off center, it will probably come on again.

Hope that helps.....Jason
