As others said, there's very little if any gain offroad. On roads, disconnecting it will harm handling in case of emergency maneuvers, more so the higher the speed.

Good tires will do much more good.

One would have to think that the rubicon would come with automatic rear swaybar disconnect to go with its front one if it did any good at all yes?

No need for rear swaybar disconnect, as the benefit is negligible.
Now, if they offered 35" wheels as stock... not to mention better headlights... or a bit more slanted rear seat, so it isn't so uncomfortable... or better reverse lights... or true manual shifting for the auto gearbox... etc'...

the rear sway bar helps in off camber situations, you wouldn't want to remove it. flex restraint is negligible but the body roll off road won't be.

Thank you all for your educated responses. I saw this feature in the Rubicon X, and was somewhat disappointed that mine did not come with the rear disconnect. It sure is fun disconnecting the front sway-bar for maneuvering over larger obstacles. Sounds like the rear is so short I would hardly notice if I disconnected it. Is this true?
