Question Rear sway bar link length?

Should the sway bar be more level when my jeep is sitting on level ground?
Pretty sure I already know the answer but wanted to ask the hive mind to be sure. Learned the hard way what happens when the front links are too short. I had the electronic sway bar disconnected and after going over a part of the trail that really flexed the front end, one half of the sway bar had flopped around and tried to come up the wrong way. Bent the link into a horse shoe shape.
The electronic disconnect was already intermittent in its operation so I just replaced the links with JKS removable links.

Anyway, back to the issue at hand...

I figured I had better address the rear link length as well.
The way it is now, instead of horizontal, it is kind of pointing down to about the 4 o'clock position (maybe a little hard to tell in the pictures).

Should I get longer links to level out the sway bar?

Thanks for your time,
Al

Yes. It should be level or a little above. Depending on your flex, it could be 5 degrees lower but I don't trust that.

I just bought longer links from eBay- $30! They're 11" from eye to eye and they sit better than they have in a long time. The links see Rubi express brand and so far they work well- they're longer and they're staying connected after bolting them down..I'm watching the head of the bolts under extreme flex top ensure they don't contact the tire or the brake line.

people should also take care to cut the bolt on the top of the link flush with the nut so it does not take your steel brake line out when it flexes if the bolt is pointing in towards the frame ala like jks links.

I cut the top bolt *after* I bent the snot out of my brake line. You only make that mistake once.

I prefer -5 on the rear. Helps clear the lines and tire when stuffed.

I moved by brakelines to the shock mount for this very reason when I installed my RK X factor kit and had to move my sway bar back an inch.
