Rear Stock Tire Carrier Question...

When I got my jks 3.5" lift I put 35" mtz on the spare tire carrier with no spacer and it was fine. It held up very well however..I didn't keep it on for long because I personally wanted to get the XHD tire carrier and rear bumper (also was on sale...) and I liked the look 10 times more and the durability even more.
Anyway, I know lots of guys running a 35 on stock carrier who wheeled hard for more than a couple years and nothing has happened. I would suggest running it for a whole and swapped the carrier when you've got the $$.

If you are going to run up to a 35" tire on the rear door, use the Rampage Carrier and get rid of your factory carrier. It is too weak to carry the weight long term. This carrier costs about 40 dollars more than a spacer, but it is much stronger and eliminated bolts holding a carrier to the weak factory carrier. The only down side to this is changing the rear brake light either with a relocation bracket or a different set up altogether.
It is Rampage Part Number 86610. It puts the tire 3" higher and 3 more inches out.
I used this carrier with a relocated brake light bracket and have had no issues. In time I will change this set up when I add new bumpers, but for now this is a much more secure solution.
