Ugh, reviving an old thread, and I think that BiginBoca's explanation in post #7 might explain what I'm trying to figure out. I was out this weekend, and after installing a rear 1350 DS with yoke, I was hitting my gas skid in a major way....sounded terrible! I have full set of rear arms, so my axle is moved back for 37s, have Rock Hard skids, and Adams 1350, paired with 3.5" RK springs on my 4dr. Although I have rubi 44 in back, my TB bracket is actually the TF weld on for a 14b. It's a huge mofo. It's been nice cuz I could raise my rear TB up higher than normal, helping with roll center. Now, from what I'm reading, I think this may be a big cause of my clearance issue. I will say I still had the factory TB back there as the bracket helped facilitate keeping it. I admittedly knew was off center about 1/4" passenger side. I raised the bar to the higher mount (I had 1 more available). Although i shifted the axle 1/8" over to the driver, still major clearance issues, and the pendulum idea makes sense.....although raising it higher shifted the axle a bit, i created greater swing at the pinion. Well, adjustable TB ordered, will mount lower than I had it before, and will hope to gain enough clearance without having to notch the skid. I'm even willing to be a touch offcenter to the driver's side if need be. I think I just never noticed this really with the factory flance back there cuz even when making contact, it would rotate smoothly....unlike the new yoke.
