Default Rear Cargo Tie Down Mod

I apologize now if someone already did this one, but anyway I bought extra cargo tie down brackets/hinges from Chrysler/Jeep part #55361485AA. I attached them to the existing hard top hold down bolts. It was like they were made for each other and super secure. They were about $3.10 a piece. With this part number you may be able to find them even cheaper.

Be prepared to wait a day. None of the dealers had them in stock. Only took a day though.

Is it one per part number, or do they come in pairs?

One per part number. I originally was going to attach them to my gear box to keep it from sliding. Still going to do it with something to secure it to now.

FYI...For once the dealer is cheaper than ordering online when considering shipping. JeepParts1.com showed the bracket for $2.04 with a minimum shipping charge of $10.99 for one bracket. Guess if you lived in the boonies and ordered a bunch for your friends it would be worth it. A little info goes a long way. Shipping may be less but it wont show until you order. Guess you would have to call first to be safe. Have a look at the link.

Thanks for sharing. This is a great idea and so easy. One can never seem to have enough tie down points.
