Default rear bumper idea? bumperettes?

Has anyone tried to install bumperettes on the back of a JK? Until I get a real rear bumper, I thought these might look cool on a JK:

this guy did this:
it doesn't get more simple than the one i did -- just plate welded right to the frame and receiver hitch, cut each corner off to eliminate that sharp edge and paint it black, took about and hour, pics are in my signature or on here ......

Default Bumperettes? No way...

I do not like them at all... they look cheap and cheesy... I've seen them on older jeeps and never liked them...

my 2 cents.

I've always liked the bumperettes on the older Jeeps. Give it a shot. You'll never know if you like it til you try it. They are pretty cheap so it's easy to pitch 'em if you don't like 'em. Even if you don't like it, be sure to post pics. That way it will help others decide if they want to do it or not.

Bumperettes? Well what do ya know... I've seen those on CJs and YJs and always thought they were some type of Jerry can holder.
Learn somethin' new every day! Thanks!
