I'm looking for a rear bumper that has a tire carrier and a place to store gas cans. Preferably a strong metal one that has a matching front bumper. Anyone got any suggestions?

Smittybilt atlas seems like a nice bumper. Can carry gas cans, hi lift and can hold up to a 37 tire.

I've heard alot of things about Smittybilt being cheap bumpers that generally have to be rigged to make work, is that right? No offense to anyone that has one, I'm just asking.

 

I think I'm going to go with the atlas when I pull the trigger

 

You can believe what you hear, usually from someone who doesn't have one but there are several threads here about the XRC Atlas rear bumper. Mine has been absolutely boring in its reliability and function, that after a painless installation, and yes I wheel mine off-road.

 

My front bumper is smittybilt and it didn't line up at all putting it on. I have also heard a lot about the fitment being bad from other people. Besides the fitment issue It seems to be holding up well so far!

 

That's why I was asking, no need to be rude about an innocent question.

 

I've heard that alot. The Atlas looks like a higher made model so maybe fitment on it would be fine. Personally I'm just looking at all the options and pick the one that I feel fits my needs the best.

you can mount the tire vertically (normal), diagonal, and in the future...horizontally. (with different mounts)
