Default Rear bumper decision - Ace Engineering vs. LOD

I'm ready to pull the trigger on a rear bumper with carrier and have narrowed my choices down to the ACE Engineering JK Pro Series or the LOD Signature series with Gen 4 carrier. Any last minute guidance on pros or cons associated with either of these?

Thanks!

One is 80 lbs lighter than the other. Both good brands, but LoD is a level higher in quality and construction. Also nice to have the option of full width or shorty. Lastly, the two stage zinc powder coat they offer is outstanding.

Just installed the LOD bumper this past week. I'd be curious to see if someone survived rear ending my Jeep now! Bumper and linked tire carrier are built solid. Installation was only a pain because of my triangulated link. I'd highly recommend LOD, but have seen the ACE and its also a nice combo.

Yeah, I'm leaning toward the shorty myself. I can't find weights for either bumper on their web sites. Which one is lighter?

How long did the install take? I was checking out the instructions on their site and it didn't look too bad.

Install took about 3 hours. Had some trouble removing the tow hook and hitch so that added unnecessary time. You will need a jack and level. Overall not bad and definitely worth it

I'm running the ACE and it is solid as can be. I don't baby my rig, I drive it at the dunes and on the trails like I'm TRYING to break something, mostly cause I am....lol...gotta find the next weak point. This tire carrier doesn't even budge with a 37" Toyo Open Country MT and Trail Ready beadlock mounted back there. Couldn't be any happier with it. As far as the LOD, can't say anything about it because I have no personal experience but the ACE is quite a nice piece.

I don't know if you tow much, but you might check the receiver rating on the LOD if you do. Their page doesn't mention anything.

I ordered the Ace with tire carrier and LED lights about 6 months ago. Solid product. the only problem I had was on the inside of the jeep frame had a bump. I had to grind down a small part of the bumper so it would slide in all the way.

I can't say much for ACE, but LoD makes a bad ass product! I love how versatile their tire carrier is, built very well and very nicely 2 stage zink powder coated. Install took about 2.5 hours by myself and was not any harder than drilling 3 holes. Lots of pictures of everything in my build thread linked in my sig.

The LOD receiver ties into the factory cross member where the factory receiver bolts up. I assume it's rated the same as factory, if it's not I'd bet it's only for liability. The bumper is MUCH more secure than the factory hitch was.
