Default Rear axle articulation limited, need help

I was wheeling this weekend and noticed that my rear tires were not stuffing up into my wells like I expected them to. So I drove up an RTI ramp backwards to see what was going on... I looked under the Jeep to see why my tire wasnt stuffing before the body teetered and I saw that my axle was like 2" form hitting my bumpstop. I know that my shock isn't keeping it from traveling further up, and my bumpstop isn't keeping it from going up... what is?

Look at my axle, it is not that far from parallel to the jeep. It should be squished up at more of an angle than that. Any ideas are welcome.

EDIT: I should have said that I do not think anything is wrong with my lift, or jeep. I am happy with my lift and it works well, I am just trying to get more from it. That is why we mod to begin with, right? My theory is that my jeep is too light for the rear springs to compress without the jeep coming off the ground. I just want to make sure that there is nothing else going on that I am missing. Sorry, I worded this the way I did to spark fresh ideas without hearing my theory. Looking back, it looks like I think something isn't working right.

How do you know it's not the shock? Did you disconnect it?

I did not disconnect it, but the shock was not fully compressed is what I meant.

here is a better photo. See, my rear tire isn't really going into the well at all.

check to see if the inside of the tire is hitting the wheel well? You might need spacers

I looked everywhere to find something hitting... I couldn't find anything.

Both sides did the same... what you mean on the swaybar links? I was afraid that they might bend under full articulation cause I had them installed on the insides, and thought the links might hit on the axle, but I recently swapped them to the outside of the swaybar like they belong. I dunno if the axle had such limited uptravel before I swapped them around. Thanks for the ideas.

I think maybe my jeep is too light for my spring rate or something. The rear tires squish up into the fender wells when the weight of the jeep is on them. see:

You can see that the tires don't hit anything on the way up, but the whole jeep goes in the air before the tire hits the bumpstop if the jeep is level and not tilted back like in that photo.
