Based on what the OP is saying, I would look for something that measures out around a 35" tire. Check some 35s, maybe a 315/70R17.

I have 35's or so the tire says and a Superchips programmer and I am getting around 15.7 in the city and 18.2 on the highway and I live in the beautiful hills of Tennessee. It is all and how you drive and I can not stress this enough if your foot is on the floor more than it is off than your wallet will be out of your pocket more than in.

What I think is funny is the reference of 35s, 37s, and the OPs want to not lose any MPGs. Sounds like you are in the wrong game, no doubt. As soon as you signed on the JK dotted line, the MPGs went away with it. That's the harsh reality.
By the way, YingYang that is a SICK unlimited

It seems to me that you need to make a decision, go for "the look" or what is working. Do your 33's work for you in every other way, (off road, on road, etc)? If they are, don't worry about it and consider that's your compromise.
Now, if you really are set on the bigger tire look, then stop worrying about the mileage. As mentioned above, keep your foot out of it, that will lessen the bite at the pump. That said, you are wanting a very modified Jeep, it will serve you in every way you wish, including looking the part, but you are going to pay for it.
Sorry, that may not be what you wanted to hear, but I feel it is reality.

The only other suggestion would be pay attention to the weight of the tire you are looking to get and buy the lightest weight tire that still performs well for the intended use.

ya right now I have open country's which I am told are a pretty damn heavy tire, one of the heaviest, in thinking if I can get a lighter 35" tire it might not be so bad
