Just for an update I have order the motech kit so I'm trying to chose between that built 5.3 aluminum or a 6.0 cast both are 2500$. Any one know if the 6.0 would be a good option or stick with the 5.3?

If you're road running, the 5.3 will be all right. Crawling, I'd go 6.0. A hot cam is for high revs and going fast. Ask MoTech. They'll tell you.

That's what I was thinking but the guy said it had awesome low and mid range and pulled 400hp at the crank. He drove it 8,000 mile and pulled it for a ls3 for the extra power. He is also the one doing the install too!

Sounds like he's trying to sell it to me. There's a reason trucks don't have hot cams. MoTech has YouTube videos that talk about it. They'll have to set your idle higher. It may not stall crawling, but idk. In one of MoTech's videos, he talks about the 6.0 & the milder 6.2 being better for offroad than that hot, loping cam Corvette 6.2.

I have to admit, I love, love, love the sound of a hot cam so I can't make a recommendation based on that fact.

Did I mention I love that sound?

Idk if he talks about the different motors in this one, but he will mention the cam. You can hear it better with ear buds.
