realistically - how far off could speedo be?? and Navi accurate?

I used those (trust me that PA has a lot of them set up during construction season) and wondered if they were correct in showing my speed was only a mile faster than my speedometer so I called up a friend of mine that's a cop and asked if he could tag me with his radar detector and it showed only a mile difference for me.
