for sure,

I was under the impression the JK's ring gears are thicker or something like that, so you cant use normal axle parts on the JK's

Wheres Northridge4x4 when you need him

My ears are burning

Rear JK uses the 3.73 and down carrier requiring a thick gear to be used.

Front uses 3.73 and higher carrier requiring standard gears.

David

Edit: and yes the front is a reverse rotation high pinion axle.

ha ha, yes...I just put the Jeep up on axle stands now and am tearing into the front 30 as we speak....no beers for me today
TrueTrac going in, what a purdy piece of kit.
Other than the reverse cut I'm not sure what all else is different...it's always an adventure.
I did have to change my carrier though as I am going to 4.10's from the 3.21's...the front doesn't have the thick gears like the 44's

EVERYTHING else is stock on this jeep(besides cutting my pinch seam)... My question is: What gear ratio would be best(5.18?), and would it be wise to upgrade my clutch/tranny along with the gearing?

Also: If I don't upgrade the gears, can it damage the engine/clutch/tranny?

I have another $2k I have available to add to this jeep for the time being.

Any suggestions would help.
My take...swap that 30 out for a built 44 if you plan on doing some serious wheeling with the 37's. Then just re-gear the rear to match.
