If regearing a JK (specifically) Dana44, you need a Diff/Carrier designed for gear sets 3.73 and down...this is due to the "thick" ring gears JK's utilize...so you can keep your stock but if you're upgrading to a LSD or Locker, get the 3.73 and down.
The Dana30 needs a 3.73 or up if changing from 3.21's. So you'll need to purchase a new Diff/carrier/locker regardless.
Parts required to complete a regear...ring and pinion in selected ratio obviously, carrier shims and pinion shims, crush collar and pinion nut...you can accomplish a regear with those items. Carrrier bearings and pinion bearings aren't entirely necessary on a young set up, but aren't a bad idea to replace on an aged set up.
Good luck
