Default Re-centering wheels

Anyone know what all is involved in re-centering wheels to a different bolt pattern? Or an approximate cost? Any negatives to having this done, like it weakens the rims or anything?

I have read a bit about this being done to the hummer beadlocks, but wanted to gather a bit more info.

Got my eye on a set of 37" Treadwrights.

It wont weaken the wheels, its just a PITA and probably not worth the work. You would be better off getting a set of adapters made. What kind of wheels are you looking at?
