Rc 2.5 lift question
Do I need a spring compressor to complete the lift installation? I've been told that the springs are under pressure and can be dangerous but I haven't read anything about that in any of the install write ups I've read....help?
Thanks, geoff.

It will help. I only needed to use it to get a few of them back in. You can rent one from Auto Zone for free, you just leave a $50 refundable deposit. I would just get it, it sux to have to run out, mid-install like I did to pick it up...

When the axles droop down...they will allow the coil to stretch to its full length, and even lose contact...and, be completely unsprung/NOT under pressure, etc.
This ALSO provides the ROOM to insert NEW longer coils, and or shocks, etc.
Hope that helps!

You shouldnt have any problems. I was able to get them in and I have the 3.25 kit which is the 2.5 coils with .75 inch spacers. No problems, just jack up the jeep by the axle suppurt with jack stands under the frame by control arm brackets and drop the axled. Remove shocks, sway bar links and break line from frame and you should be able to get the old springs out easily and the new ones in easily. at the most you will have to have someone stand on the axles to get it to drop a little but more. You could also disconeect the track bar and it will drop even farther. No need for spring compressor for this lift.
