Rancho RS9000xl shock help/info question please
I am looking at ordering new shocks for my unlimited. I have a TF 2.5" coil lift PLUS 3/4" spacers on each. I really like the idea of the 9000's so I can adjust them, esp when towing. My question is when I try to order they list shocks for (up to 2") and (for 4") of lift. Which ones should I get? I don't want them to be short or to long. I also have the shock extenders that came with my TF coil kit. Should I get the 2" lift shocks then add the extensions? Anyone running similar setup or have experience?

4". Rancho's 2" Sport lift comes with longer shocks already in the back. The 2" is only really to limit your down travel due to the front brake lines. If your lift is that high you probably already have the brake lines extended.
I'm running a Rock Kralwer 2.5" Max Travel and I believe my 9000XLs are RS999331 in the front and 330 in the rear.

So big picture here...when I finally make the move to upgrade the suspension and tires I want to do it once and once alone. I'm prepping for a AEV 3.5 Dual Sport RC kit with 4"Rancho 9000xl's to replace the Bilsteins. I already replaced my rims with 17" Black Rhino's and am pinching my pennies for MT ATZ 37's. Is there anything not supplied in the AEV kit which I will need? Will the 4" Rancho's fit fine with the 3.5 AEV kit? I am currently running a leveling kit, 2/1, so will that have to be removed prior to the overhaul? I appreciate the assistance from all you professionalsddcaa Oh, I hav a 12 Jk Rubi...2dr. TF

Just been doin a lot of reading and find that the rancho's offer a bit smoother ride, plus it can be stiffened or softened with their selectibility option...aev is a little stiff as seen in the powersliding demo.

29xl front and 30xl rear are good for 2.5" If you want more travel 31xl and 32xl just make sure your bumped accordingly so you don't over compress the shocks.
A member on WF ditched his AEV 5100's for the 9000's and loves the ride.
