I've had my RS9000XL shocks for over 3 years and with my HEAVY JKUR--they're SUPREME-

When I tow, I reset all shocks full CW for a VERY FIRM ride--about 1 minute-to adjust

When not towing I set them CCW back to about 5/6-

I have the rear shocks base's turned 180 degrees for knob protection !!

There may be better shocks, but not for me or the price !

Good luck

JIMBO

Anyone use the wireless remote with the 9000xl? Wondering how well that works.

It takes a minute to adjust all 4 corners.
I've heard the air lines can leak.

As mentioned turn the knob clockwise to tighten them up. You will feel a "click" when you get to the next setting.

I love my Rancho 9000s. They ride much better than the stiff Bilstein 5100s that they replaced.

Why do you think they suck?

The 9000's are a awesome shock.
You won't find may negatives around.
Its based on experience,, unfortunately. Most recently I helped a buddy lift his jk,, he bought ranchos due to the recommendation by currie. When we took the shocks out of the boxes, 3 of the 4 had leaked a significant amount of oil into the bag they came in. You could also expand and contract the shocks like an accordion. I have been told this is because Rancho is a low pressure shock, but it is not confidence inspiring. After replacing the 3 shocks with bad seals out of the box,, my buddy's ride was dangerously soft when adjusted to anything but the firmest setting. This is just the most recent story of many over the years!

Well, I'm batting a1000 over two vehicles and live them. They are a much better ride then my Blisteins on my Titan. I would say that is just very unfortunate and doesn't necessarily point to a systemic problem in quality.

When you turn it, does it feel "firmer"/harder to turn? Is it loose a little?
