Rancho 7000 shocks
#1
Back on the Rancho bandwagon Never one to pass up a good deal, I had to try them. I bought these new/used from a vender on another site and had just enough time to still use the rebate. Shhh don't tell Rancho. Total $140
Not many reviews on this shock so ill do my best I can't find the info I had seen and going off of memory. Think Bilstein 5100 but with less psi. Both are a high pressure gas shock where the Rancho's have something like 275-300 on the charge to the Bilsteins 375. Both these shocks are a 10 stage digressive valved shock. Rancho claims 5/5 on the compression/rebound iirc. Pretty much look alike too. I will snap some pics one i clean the mud off
My first reaction after installing them was "holy firm batman". The Bilstein's were harsh to me even after the supposed "break in period" I read about. The 7000 is NOT harsh at all. Firm but I never once thought harsh I had a chance to put a good amount of miles on these shocks and I got used to the firmness. The jeep feels solid. No sway at all. Very much like a truck but the shocks dampen very well. I don't know if its the valving but they do better than the Fox 2.0 I had on previously. Very controlled. You feel everything but in a good way. You are very aware of what's going on underneath you if that makes any sense ??
If anybody is looking for a shock like the 5100 and are worried about the harshness. Look no further. RANCHO Imo did a really good job on this shock. I think I may have a keeper

Same feel with my monroes. I'm betting that they are very similar inside. Both are made in the same place, so I would say that the differences are cosmetic and the fact that the Rancho shocks are available for lifted applications.

So the Monroe shock is only offered for stock jeeps ?

We will have different valving and pressured different than the Monroes.

The monroes are only available for stock lengths.
From what the guy is saying that has your 7000s. The ride is very similar to my reflex.
Which is a very good thing. I love them. So, if I go higher than my leveling kit, I will more than likely run your 7000s. Cheers.
