Unless your daily commute is long at 75-80 mph, 4.56s don't make any sense. (They cost more than 4.88s.)

Do you have a long daily commute at over 75 mph?

Does less than 200 extra rpm bother you?
You make a good point (both posts). My daily commute on interstate/hwy isn't that far. Maybe 10-13 miles one way and it usually 65-70 mph. Plus I do have a trailer (5x10 utility trailer and it's all steel; no wood) that I use from time to time. Not much, but it's there. Another note I saw on the other chart I looked at states that the RPMs will be slightly higher for an auto but if you have OD then slightly lower. Sounds like 4:88s may be the way to go then.

4:88's would be better if you were running a true 35" tire.
Most 35's are 34" or less.
Look at the chart again with 34's and 4:56.
Don't go by the 35" chart.

I would definitely rely a good bit on those charts...i used the charts when i was in doubt and i chose the gears that were better for off-road vs highway and i'm pretty happy, although factor in the true size of the tire...my 37's are really 35" +/-

Back when i had to pick tires & gears there wasn't as much talk about true tire size as there is lately, otherwise i might have picked 4.88 vs 5.13

I love the 5.13 but they are a bit low, but they crawl nicely!

Again, don't "fear the gear."

Less than 200 rpm higher with 4.88s at highway speeds on 34" actual size tires compared to 4.56s.

More power. Almost no difference in fuel economy. 4.88s are less expensive than 4.56s.

The only way 4.56s remotely make sense is for long, daily commutes at speeds over 75-80 mph.
