Questions on upgrading from 16" Stock wheels to 17 or 18" OEMs
Have some "dumb" questions on upgrading from stock 16" wheels and tires.
Nothing fancy, just any set of OEM 17s or 18s that I can find with stock size rubber.
1) do I need to have the dealer recalibrate the speedometer ?
2) will the bigger sizes make a noticable difference in performance ?
3) can I use the same pressure sensors from my 16" wheels and can I trust a local tires shop to do it or should I go to a dealer.
4) Is there any other reason besides the cost that would stop me from going to a larger OEM wheel tire setup over stock 16" steel wheel and tires.
Thanks for any help.

It really depends on the overall diameter of both the tire and wheel. If you went to a larger wheel, but maintained the same overall diameter you would notice minimal difference. If you are moving up from the OEM 16" setup, I would assume you are going to a larger setup. If you look in the FAQ it will show you how your current Transmission&gear setup will perform over increased diameters.
You will be able to reuse your TPMS, but you will likely want to recalibrate your spedo.
As far as cost the price of tires also climbs as you increase your wheel diameter.
