Questions on installing TeraFlex Flex Arms
I have one pair of TeraFlex front lower Flex Arms (adjustable control arms) ready to install as a way to add caster to improve my road handling (e.g, minimize "flightiness" and "dartiness") on my 2DR with 3" coils and 34" tires. I also have one pair of TeraFlex rear upper Flex Arms ready to install in preparation for my Tom Woods drive shaft installation (this double cardan joint drive shaft requires that my pinion angle be adjusted, so hence the adjustable rear upper control arms).
Question 1: What items, aside from the wheels for easy access, will I have to remove/disconnect in order to install each of these pairs of Flex Arms? It would seem logical to disconnect shocks and trackbar from their axle mounts to free up the axle for caster (front) and pinion angle (rear) adjustments.
Question 2: Is there a mathematical way to determine the length(s) of my front lower control arms (and hence my caster) based on my particular geometry?
Question 3: Any hints/tips/tricks to heed to make life easier?

In fact, I have read through your alignment write-up several times, but I still have some questions/comments. 1st, I am installing the Flex Arms for the first time; the write-up explains how to adjust caster with CAs already installed. Second, your write-up only mentions front upper CAs. Elsewhere on the forum, you specify that caster can be controlled with just the lower front CAs, so I'm a little bit confused as how to transpose the instructions for the uppers to the lowers (if this is, in fact, what I should do).
You've suggested the work might be easier with all four wheels on the ground, but does this apply to installation too?

Thank you. I have also read the TeraFlex 4" write-up several times and found it helpful. Again, the same questions apply. The TF 4" write-up has the shocks and track bar removed, presumably to get the springs in/out. Is this not necessary for the control arms?

No, it isnt necessary to disassemble anything else. Like Eddie said, just do one arm at a time. Take off the psgr, then put on the new psgr TF CA. The difficult part will be getting the arms to line up with the holes. You will likely need to "roll" the axle a little bit with a floor jack. It is even possible that you wont be able to do one at a time. If that is the case, put a floor jack under the pumpkin before disconnecting the stock arms to try to keep it in place the best you can. Mount the new arms to the frame side first, then rotate your axle as needed to get the bolts to line up. It might take a little massaging, but it shouldnt be too difficult.

I just put the treaflex front lowers on last Friday. Like they said put stand behind the control arm mounts and use a lift under the axle to get the holes to line up. It was a 3 person job but could be done with 2. I'd definitely do 23 on both sides. I went 23 and 1/4 and 23 and 1/8 like the instructions that came with it said and now the jeep pulls to the right.

Very Confused
So I've had the full set of flexarms for a couple weeks, waiting to be installed along with my lift and finally decided to take a look at all of them. How come when I opened the front uppers, one of the front uppers (I think its the passenger side) has a packet with a nut and bolt and 2 washers????? The other front upper has no hardware like this. Also, all the arms are marked passenger side, drivers side, etc. except for the rear lowers. Does it matter which side the rear lowers go on? Just from a quick look they look to be exactly the same... I'm sure I'll have more questions once I begin the install but any help is greatly appreciated.
And what is the final consensus on the length of each arm??? it seems like it varies form lift to lift...true? Also, the only length TeraFlex has specified on my instruction card is for the front lowers with 3" of lift on a 2 door. Because I plan on running a 4" lift, how do I compensate? I am using this full flexarm kit with the 4" Superlift with an adjustable front track bar. I'm looking for a nice seamless install. My buddy who is helping helped to instal a TeraFlex 6" LCG Long arm, so maybe he can help...but I don't want to go in blind.

Front upper arms: Axle end, insert bolt in the end holes.
Front lower arms: Mount with clevite bushing end on frame, modular flex joint on axle end. Current production ends will have one grease zert up and the other down. Looks like it will 4-5 months before the ends come with 2 holes for grease zerts.
Rear upper arms: Flex end joint bolts in frame end
Rear lower arms: Mount with clevite bushing end on frame, modular flex joint on axle end.
Because of these thread and several others recently, new improved instructions are in the works.
