Default question on winch and mounting

I have read through a lot of the posts on mounting a winch/plate to both standard and aftermarket bumpers... I keep wondering though, do I need to get a plate specific to the winch? or are they all pretty much standard to each other?

So... let's say I get the Mile Marker PE8000 winch from Costco online (which does not mention any sort of mounting plate). Will I have to go searching for a Mile Marker mounting plate?

I can't speak to Mile Marker specifically, but *most* winches seem to adhere to a fairly generic bolt spacing. My Rugged Ridge XHD bumper install instructions only called out the Warn Powerplant as needing to use the alternate set of predrilled holes.

It looks like the Mile Marker PE8000 has a 10"x4.5" bolt pattern, which seems to be pretty common. Warn winches use that bolt pattern. I think the Powerplant, because of its size it has to be mounted offset on the Rugged Ridge bumper, explaining the need for the alternate set of predrilled holes.
