question:what is the 'real' backspace of a rugged ridge wheel?
Here's my question:
The rugged ridge wheel shown on the rugged ridge site has following measurements:
17x9 with a 12mm offset which means this wheel has a backspace of 5.5, correct? (https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/show...do-they-relate)
Now why is this wheel advertised with a backspace of 4.75 ?
I am confused, can somebody explain please...
This is the wheel

Joe,
Yes the wheels are hub-centric, they were designed to fit the JK. The offset is +12mm which should make the backspacing 5.5".
Thank you,

You don't need to run wheel spacers with this wheel.. I'm pretty sure the stock MOAB wheels are 7in of back spacing and with 1.5in wheel spacers that equates to 5.5in backspacing and it doesn't rub.. So you should be able to run this wheel with a 12.50in tire without any rubbing issues. But if your getting 35s your going to want I still trim your pinch seam in the back.
