Default Question regarding truetrac and ESP

I was looking at getting truetracs in my jeep, and wondering about slippery road control. Would the stability control take care of the tendancy for the rear to break out with a truetrac installed?

You shouldnt have any issues. I havent. But with a front lsd you might find that the front will pull right or left. Lockers in 4hi would give you more issues as far as on road manners is concerned.

I know truetracs are lsd's, i was just comparing them to lockers. Correct. Without torque/power to the front wheels you wont have any issues. I dont think the pull in 4wd would be that dramatic either. Only fwd cars with lsd's torque like crazy.

This is my first winter with front and rear truetracs. As you already expect, in 2wd, the rear will have more tendency towards kicking out than with open differential...more-so in off camber situations. But no big deal if you drive using your head. The stability control and traction control still actively participate and help out. I’m happy with the TT’s in the rear and in the front. Can still cut some wicked donuts with the ESP off.

Truetracs are a good choice for snow/ice driving, you'll be fine. (As long as you remember that they aren't magic and you are driving on snow and ice... )

An excerpt from a post by the gentleman from Dynatrac:

Only gear driven LSD's such as a Truetrac provide better snow and ice traction. A clutch driven LSD (when they work) acts more like a locker and will cause the rig to understeer. Traction makes the clutch driven unit differentiate and slick conditions will prevent differentiation.
The truetrac is gear driven - the factory limited, and most other aftermarket limiteds, are clutch based.
