Question (New to all of this): Going 35 or 37 with KM2's?
I have a 2012 Jk 2-Dr with RC 3.25 lift. I am looking to go with BFG KM2 35". However, after researching and reading through the threads, the KM2 seems to be measure below 35.
Do you think going with 37 KM2 would be okay without new gears and gussets?
I don't go off-roading...the nearest trail from downtown Chicago is about 2-3 hours away. Do you think 37 KM2 with regular city driving and zero wheeling will harm the gears and such?
Thanks for helping!

Personally 37's are not worth the money if you are not going to wheel them. However I would choose a different tire if I were you because the km2's are like iceskates on Chicago roads. Look for something with more sipping in the treads.

I think it may depend on the wheeling you're going to do. 95 % of the time I'm fine on some pretty tuff trails in the Sierras, but will admit I'm not familiar with what you;re going to be facing. The KM2's do run small, so you're not going to be at 37", but the cost sure will be.

I'm currently using the 37's on stock rubicon wheels. Mine is a stick with the stock 4:10 as of now. I think you will be unhappy with the performance with the larger tires. I'm going to be going to a 5:13 shorty.
Tires over 35" tall are closer to actual size.

I keep hearing about how the KM2s run small, but I have 5 35x12.5x17 KM2s mounted in the garage waiting to go on next weekend and they are less than a 1/4" from being 35". Granted that's at full pressure with no weight on them, but that seems like how you would measure them to me.

I have the same tire and it is about 34" when mounted on the Jeep. You want to measure them with weight on them to give you a better idea of how much ground clearance you will get. You also want the measurement with the weight on the tires if you are using a ProCal to set your tire size otherwise your speedometer will be off slightly.

I have 35x1250r18 km2 on 7.5 wide sahara rims and 35x1250r17 Nitto trail grapplers on 8.5 wide dc torque rims sitting in my garage and the Nitto is 3/4" taller on the jeep
