I disabled it on my 2013. Pro cal is what I use and I check my pressure at least once a week.

I just bought 5 new TPMS units and installed them in the new wheels- 100 bucks or so from Ebay if I remember correctly , no worries, used the procal to set the limits. They are the 433mhz units. The 2013s read each wheel and tire combo's pressure - but not the spare. Positional readout on dash. I leave the key on and check the pressures while I fill, the sensors seem to read fairly quickly. For the convienience and lazy factor I would reinstall them.
Just shut them off with the procal if it bothers you when you air down while wheeling.

Sucks that another government mandate pushes up prices for vehciles, but since they are there I use them. If you sell you may make yourself liable if you dont disclose they are disabled. I really cant imagine a tire guy or dealer not putting them back in- just for the CYA factor. Most places wont even put non standard tires on vehicles since its not recommended by mfr. Lawyers touch every aspect of our lives it seems....

As of like october last year feds require that if vehicle came with tpms it has to leave with it, that said if you have good relationship with installer you'll be fine

I just had them swap the sensors from the stock tires to the new ones... it's not that much more to do, not a big deal to me having the sensors, better than dealing with a light, buying a procal, listening to dings, etc... just swap them over.

+ another on the TPMS not required. I removed them and for the record the Superchips can now disable the TPMS like the Procal.

Just put new wheels and tires on 4 days ago. Went to Americas Tire (Discount Tire but in CA) and they just swapped mine from the stock wheels to the new wheels as well. Didn't cost me a penny. They actually comped me new valve stems, lugnuts, got a bunch of rebates and other stuff for free. Great Experience.

I quit going to Discount Tire for that reason (They required to have it installed in new tires) well that and they ruined a wheel by not tightening the lugs down... Yes, went a mile down the road, got out cause something didn't feel right and the lugs were all about half tightened.

They will transfer them from the old rims to the new ones.
