Default Question about Installing insulating headliner

The instructions say to remove the roof and panels for installation. Do i really have to do this or can i simply install them in place? Anybody think I will be making a mistake by installing them in place? I really dont see the need to remove the roof. The adhesive should be strong enough to hold the panels as they set....they hardly weigh anything....

I recently installed the adhesive backed boom mats in the top of my 2011 two door with out removing the back section. A word of caution though, the boom mats required trimming to fit on the 2011 before installation. So make sure all of the pieces fit before application and clean the surfaces well with alcohol. I removed the front freedom panels since they are easy to take off. Remove the rear seat and lower the sound bar across the top to gain access to the front of the rear section. An extra pair of hands will go along ways to an easy install on the back section. Whereever the mats touch they are stuck. There is no repositioning them. Removing the protective backing a little at a time while sticking the mat to the surface is the best way to go. Good luck and take your time.
