question about bump stops and shocks
I currently have a Daystar 1.75" lift and I am going to replace the front coil spacers with 2.5" Teraflex BB spacers. I am thinking about getting the Skyjacker 2.5" lift shocks.
Are these shock lengths safe for only a 1.75" lift in the back?
Also, I purchased Teraflex front spacers but they don't come with bump stops. Will the Daystar bumstops be ok since I am only going 3/4" higher?

Ask them the compressed and extended lengths of the shocks....that will answer the question.
If they compress down to 15"....you do not need bumpstops to prevent over compression of the shocks, and if keeping the same sized tires....you are good to go.
If the Daystar kit included bumpstop extensions...you can get a longer shock by that amount of extension.
BTW - the height of the lift has nothing to do with your concern...its about what it will compresss to....and, pretty much ALL suspension lifts, if they allow uptravel, will stuff the tire...so, if you have a 5" lift, or a 2" lift....the tire goes up to whereever it would have gone with NO lift....it just doesn't care.
The talller lifts just mean the tire has further to go to get there...as you typically traded downtravel to get more uptravel, etc.

So - if deciding on a new shock and potential damage to it...its not about the inches of lift....its about how small it will compress.
Hope that helps.
So - ASK!
(And report back)

Edit: looks like the rear suspension has the factory bump stops. Is the 15" compress for the front, back or both?

The front and rear shocks themselves are similar in dimensions, but ...if you fully compress the suspension to the FACTORY bumpstops...you will find that the eye to eye mount positions of the shocks go down to 15" front AND back (Both).
The shocks the JK's come with are different front/rear...but the full compression (Assuming some bumpstop compression on a landing, etc....) is 15" front and back....it just works out that way.
So - ASK what the compressed/extended lengths are for the new shocks....RE for example n at least two kits, uses the same shocks for the 2" BB as their 3.5" lifts....but ALSO has 2" BB specific shocks that in SOME ranges, are longer than the ones they list for the 3.5" lifts, etc.
So - You HAVE to ask to KNOW what you are getting.
(For many brands of lift...they use the same shocks for more than one lift height, not just RE.)
Also - when getting READY to do the lift...
check out the other droop limiting/damage potential factors.
e-brake cables, anti-sway bar links, ABS wires and brake lines, diff breathers, etc...you can get longer sway bar links, relocate the assorted ebrake, ABS clips, etc, to make slack, or get longer brake lines, what ever works.
If you get all of those issues resolved,a 27" inch length shock will work...and 15" - 27" for example is 12" travel....which is an available shock travel range, etc.
Most of the Rubi shocks for less than 4" of lift are less than 25" long at full extension....
Food for thought.
