Default Quadratec - Tactik Adjustable Spare Mount with Hinge Reinforcement Review and Install

I reviewed and studied all of the similar products on the market that didn't need a new rear bumper to support a tire carrier. The products I looked at were:
Teraflex - Teraflex HD Wrangler Hinged Carrier with Adjustable Tire Mount 4838150 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping
Smittybilt - Smittybilt - Pivot Heavy-Duty Oversize Tire Carrier - Fits 2007 to 2016 JK Wrangler, Rubicon and Unlimited - 4WheelParts.com
Rugged Ridge - Rugged Ridge Wrangler Spartacus HD Tire Carrier Kit 11546.50 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping
Quadratec Tactik - TACTIK 12052.0010 - TACTIK® Adjustable Spare Mount with Hinge Reinforcement for 07-16 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec
Red Rock - RedRock 4x4 Rear Hinged Wrangler Tire Carrier w/Tire Mount J100139 (07-16 Wrangler JK) - Free Shipping
Morryde - JK Tailgate Reinforcement - MORryde Products

Teraflex - Simply too much money
Smittybilt - well...it is Smittybilt, and I could find no reviews on it.
Morryde & Red Rock - I can not see how the design prevents the torsion (twisting) of the tailgate and did not appear as stout as the others with cast sections. (yes I am an engineer).
Rugged Ridge and Tactik - are identical with only the names appearing different.
I selected the Quadratec Tactik feeling that if Quadratec stands behind it, it is good enough for me.

I called Quadratec up, told them what I wanted. They gave me our forum discount, and it arrived two business days later!!
First thing noted, NO instructions were included.
The Hinge and the spare carriers were packaged in separate boxes, within a large box:

The Spare carrier box was damaged somehow:

Ah, all the parts were loose inside the box, which caused them to bang around and against each other chipping the powder coating along all the edges.

The hinge was packaged very well:

The spare carrier box had to have been dropped from a high height to bend it this badly, at the factory.

This did not happen during shipping as the box was inside the undamaged shipping box.

Don't forget to prime the bare metal behind the original hinges:

Got it on. The only complaint about the fit, is that the tolerances are extremely tight in trying to line up the tailgate, the new hinge, and the spare carrier. I tried the suggested method of installation per the instructions which left the bolt holes misaligned after tightening the down the hinge bolts to the body. Took some pushing and pulling to get all the bolts in without stripping any.

I put the adjustable portion of the carrier as close to the body as possible to start with, and it fit perfectly against the hinge, and the stock bumper on the driver's side.

Had to take it down the street to a temple that had some large rocks to check for rubbing:

If anyone is curious I have a Fabtech lift: 3 Budget System w/ Performance Shocks - 2007-15 Jeep JK (4 Door) 4WD and besides a stiffer ride, I am very pleased with this lift.

Not including the painting and waiting, less than an hour.

I have the morRyde and it does stop the flex of the tailgate as the hinges are WAY more stout than the stockers which were flimsy POS. My tailgate was a rattley mess before, and now its solid. This coming from someone who has them installed and used for over 50,000 on the Rig now.
