Talking Putting a winch on the Factory bummper

First off I'd like to thank RedRockJK for the write up on how to do this.

Here's pics of the progress so far.

Now all I have to do is choose a winch and cutout for the fairlead.

Which mount plate is that?

I plan on doing something like this, after I realized how much I am going to end up spending on mods!

Check out this thread for some help, or this one - it's been done before.

Default oem bumper with winch

This is the end result of my mounting a "Champion" 8000# from Cosco $299.00 including the winch plate and roller farlead. You will need to check my link to see the photos. I cannot get them to post. good luck.

My issue with paying near $200 for a winch mount (which is little more than drilled and bent steel) is that you are almost half way to a new bumper.

unless you dont like any of the bumpers that are in the $400-600 range then a winch plate is a good way to go. I did the plate because the only bumpers i like are a bit to costly for my taste

That is true

I suspect these prices will start dropping at some point as competition heats up

Isn't that the harbor freight winch plate? That's what I used and it is only $29.99. It looks identical to the Mile-market winch plate.

They have it listed on their website. At least they did a few weeks ago.
