Put Rubi Xfer case on a '12 Sport...
what would the job entail to swap out stock transfer case for Rubicon transfer case? is it just a bolt on? or is there computer work involved?? any info will be greatly appreciated

Just did it 3 weeks ago on my 2013 JK Sport (manual trans). Did the swap alone and in my driveway. I'd recommend having a friend help as the case is heavy and awkward. It is pretty much bolt on, but the bolts that attach the case to the trans are a PITA to get off (go on a lot easier).
Since you have a manual, any Rubi case from a manual Jk will work. Any case from an auto up to 2011 will work. 2012+ auto cases will not.
Also, buy a 9/16 shorty ratchet wrench, it will make things way easier.

Yep, pretty easy process.
1. Remove t-case skid
2. Unbolt driveshafts at t-case (the shafts can compress, so you don't actually have to completely remove them.
3. Remove breather tube
4. Remove speed sensor
5. Disconnect shift cable
6. Remove 6 bolts holding to trans
7. Remove case (weighs about 95lbs).
Depending where you get the donor case, you may have to swap the yokes, etc.
Oh, one difference to note. The shift lever on the case cannot not be removed or put on unless the yoke is removed. Your stock case will let you. I had the rubi case in and all bolted up, went to bolt the shift lever on and had to remove the yoke again. Major pain once on the Jeep.
And as noted, you need a stubby 9/16 wrench (preferably a gear wrench).

Yes, same as above. Any case off of a manual trans Jeep will work and any case from an auto (2007-2011). It's only 2012+ autos that don't work with other Jeeps.

I forget exactly, but it's the new transmission (different output or input, different dimensions... something like that). The manual is the same for all years. When the designed the JK, they made it so the T-case dimensions were the same and the outputs were the same (so they can use the same parts). That changed with the 2012 autos.
