Wow... that's going to be a very sweet ride!

So, I guess Van Andel Flikkema is mod-friendly? That's actually really good to know as I work just a few miles away from there and am looking for a dealership to call home.

I'd love to see your rig in person when it is done... sounds like it is going to be killer.

Default AEV vs. Flikkema

Well, I guess my perspective is that Van Andel is giving me a 24 month 2 year warranty end to end on the vehicle, and if I have problems I'm not going to deal with going to Detroit... If I can save money and reduce risk, I'm gonna go that way every time.

As for resale, I disagree. A jeep done right by a reputable company is worth the same... I sure as hell wouldn't pay an extra 6k because Joe from AEV did it vs. Joe from Flikk... Besides, the Jeep is essentially going to be AEV all the way across minus the rims, so if someone wants to split hairs and say it's not an AEV jeep because an AEV tech didn't do the install, then I guess that's their opinion.

Finally, I'm not building this Jeep to sell it, I'm building it to keep. Someone mentioned that to me the other day about my house, they brought up resale and I simply said I didn't build my house to sell it...

I'm happy with how things are going, besides Van Andel is not just doing the AEV stuff they're also putting in a new nav system, etc. etc. They're giving me the premium treatment.

Here's some pics (hope they load, never done this before)

I WILL POST MORE AS THEY SHOW UP!

BTW, big props to Roland, the founder of Rolling Big Power... He found me the only 5 available R93 20's in the country...

They are also getting some media contacts involved on this project!!!

Default Almost Done

I've taken delivery of the vehicle at this point... Last minute subtitutions include:

Olympic Smuggler Bumper with a Warn 8000lb winch was substituted for AEV Rear

Interior of the hardtop was painted to match the rest of the interior

Exterior of the hardtop was painted to match the rest of the silver exterior with water based paint

CB was added

MyGig unit was swapped out for a Pioneer AVIC Z110BT

I'm waiting for my Rolling Big Power rims to come in on Monday (RBP screwed up the delivery BIG TIME) and some misc. button up items that came up after I took delivery, i.e. CB isn't tied to ignition, Bluetooth cell phone volume is too faint, John Flikkema has been very good to work with...

Wow that was COLD!

I agree that the modus operandi for a lifted Jeep should not be to go 100 mph+, but I for one couldn't resist the temptation to see where the power would take me. Someday when I get old I hope to be just as disciplined as you are Marine.

No, you're right, I wouldn't even go 90 with a 3.8 for fear the hamsters might fly out of the wheel and kill me

I dunno, I hit 80 in mine all the time, if I had a hemi, ARRH,ARRH,ARRRH( Tim Allen grunt) I'm a former Marine, so my discipline is slacking.
