Default Pro Comp Xtreem AT tires

Any body have them? I' about to order a set of 305 65 17's on Pro COMP 8179 wheels. I'll also have a TC 2.5 BB with shocks on the same rig that i plan to install myself. I Drive almost exclusively on the interstate and after reading about JK's getting loose at speed I'm concerned about going too tall and too wide so I scrapped the 34's and 35's. I still like the more aggressive look though and don't want the wheel wells to appear too large for what I want to put in there. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Love this site.

Was also considering Nitto Terra Grapplers and Dune Grapplers but concerned about the wear. I drive 35 to 40K per year.

That's the tire I'm running and I love them! They are great both on and off-road. I've got some pics in my Gallery. I'm running the 305/65/17s on 7189s

Nitto's will prolly last longer..but watch the load rating.. The first Nitto's I had were Load range E's and I bounced around everywhere or swayed too much..never could quite get the pressure right on those things.

Thanks for the replies. I looked at the gallery and those pics seem to be the look I'm after. Should I go ahead and get the steering stabilizer now? Seems like the conventional wisdom is that you'll need it.
Don't stop the feedback! I haven't ordered the combo yet. Found everything mounted and balanced delivered for about the mid $1700's on a website. Pro comp has a couple of promotions going on right now on both wheels and tires. I'd like to know if anyone has the same setup with the larger 34's or 35's just to see if they are having any stability issues.

I am running the xtreme mud terrains but my best friend is running the xtreme all terrains... i dont remember the numbers but it measured almost 35 inches.
He absolutely loves them and they last a long time... i would go with the pro comps before the nittos... the terra grapplers are not very aggresive looking.

What is the actual height of the tires you are looking at?

And oh yea... no stabiity issues with either of us.. I have xtreme mud terrains, 35's with 5 inches of lift 2 dr jeep... stock steering stabilizer... rides better than stock and very stable

He is running the all terrains, 4 inches of lift on a 4 dr, stock steering stabilzer, rides great!

I have 8k miles on mine and practically no wear at all!

I am running the ProComp Xtreme AT 35-12.5-17's on ProComp 1069 wheels. So far they have a good ride, not noisy, stable on and off road. They also have a 40,000 mile on and offroad warranty available.

Strike,
I'm looking at 32.5'S . I ordered a Rough Country 2.5BB with shocks. I kind of backed off the larger tires after reading some posts about stability issues on the highway. But if stability and ride quality isn't really an issue with the lager tires I'll re-visit. The stock Goodyears actually measure 31.5", so I thought that with a 2.5 lift and 34 or 35" tires you'd have a pretty aggressive look without going overboard for what I do.

You don't need a steering stabilizer if your geometry is correct for your size lift. I'm lifted 4", have a castor of 6.5 degrees but my axle is off-center about 1/2". My stock steering stabilizer was leaking before I put the lift on, so I had it replaced under warranty but for piece of mind, picked up the aftermarket stabilizer. I'm working on getting my geometry correct but funds are tight with a wedding coming up in 29 days. I wheeled with no issues with these tires.

That said, whatever tire you get, make sure you keep them rotated. I'm dealing with an issue right now since I waited 5K miles to rotate... the backs moved to the fronts and there's a little wobble in them now. I'm going to check balance but my fear as they may be a little chopped up.
