Default Pro Comp 1069's or Mickey Thompson Classic II's?

I am considering purchasing either a set of M/T or Pro Comp wheels. I can make a really good deal on the Pro Comps. I have noticed that most of the Pro Comps are made in China. This is true also for my stock JK wheels that have Made in China stamped on them. I'm not sure where the M/T wheels are made. Will try to find out. Would like a little input on the subject? Which would you buy?

so far as i know, most wheels are made in china or at least start from there and get finished here. either way, both have a similar look but another thing you should take into consideration is what wheel size they are available in and back spacing. IIRC, the MC's are not or at least, were not available in 17's or maybe it was that they weren't available in the right bolt pattern - i'm not sure. maybe things have changed since i last looked.

Both are available for the JK.
M/T Classic II, 17x9 5x5 bolt pattern, 4.5 backspacing
Pro Comp 1069, 17x9 5x5 bolt pattern, 4.75 backspacing

Just wanted some opinions.

I initially bought the M/T II in 16x8/5x5 bolt pattern but had to exchange them for the ProComps. I haven't heard of anyone else having my problem but the M/T didn't fit flush on the front hubs. The clearance around the calipers was fine, it was the metal piece of the caliper that sticks out beyond the hub that was hitting the wheel. The back of the M/T wheel had a larger flat area than the ProComps. I have a 2007, don't know if the 2008 has this problem.

I looked at both before I made my choice. I went with the 1069's because they fit properly and M\T don't fit the JK correctly because the Brake Caliper.

I went with the MT 17x9 with 4.5 backspacing. I have not had any issues with them.

great lookin' jeep!! i think that is the exact wheel/tire setup i'm going to go with (in the next month or so)...

just curious - i'm still searching around the forum for these answers but i thought i'd just ask here - what are the advantages of having a 17" wheel over a 16" wheel? advantages of 16" over 17", etc?? i definitely won't be going with 15's but i'm a bit torn between the 16" and 17"... tires are sure cheaper for the 16's!!

also, i was trying to find data on the weight of the wheel (procomp 1069 or 1079 17x9 and 16x8), as well as the weight of my stock rubicon 17x7.5"... i was just curious what the overall weight of each wheel/tire would be when comparing stock vs. the procomp setup (with BFG KM/2 35x12.5x17's...)

i've looked on the pro comp website and can't find the weight of their wheels anywhere (maybe i'm blind)??

I have the 1069's in 16X8 with my M/T Baja Claws, no issues on fitment, and they hold the bead really well, ive had them as low as 10 PSI on the rocks and no issues.

Thanks for the input! They look great! I'm pretty sure that's what I'll ultimately go with (in about 6 weeks)...
