Adam, buy a snorkel and be done with it. You already raised your breathers... youll hydrolock your motor way before you will get water in your transmissiond or trans. case..
And besides, they make a good sound and look pretty darn cool to boot.
you knew It was coming since im a picture whore..
also, the snorkel has already saved me at least once.

I'm the latest to join the HYDROLOCK CLUB.
First thing I'll do once I get my jeep back is put a snorkle on the damn thing. I was splashing in the water, not deep at all, and that's all it took. And it DID NOT take long at all. It could have happened driving thru one of our Texas deluges.
This is an absolute design flaw in the JK.
And expensive.

About hydrolocking, i have a new theory... its all about your luck, because i've had water in my intake and it still worked. only sputtered a little bit but the engine got over it so i guess i was lucky huh?
