PRESS RELEASE: TeraFlex JK 3rd Seat Bracket Kit!!
#12
Intriguing. My wife and I are currently kicking around the idea of a second JK Unlimited when her car lease is up next month, but one of the issues is deciding whether or not to get another vehicle with more than 5 seats. With our 3 kids, we can't take any friends along anywhere unless we have higher capacity, but I do wonder about safety with this mod. It's got my wheels turning, though

Just install it rear-facing: Then the factory bar will cover the kids' heads, they can get in and out easier out the rear, you can access the floor storage, and easily store other stuff (groceries?) when there's no one in it. It's also safer in a head-on or rear collision, and kids love riding backwards.

Sick idea, two thoughts tho. One, seat belts? Someone had mentioned the roll bar but how? Two, (I could be wrong) the Unlimited is marketed and registered as a 5 passenger vehicle, wouldn't carrying 7 be considered an overloaded vehicle?
Either way I love the design.

Am I the only one here who thinks the price is a bit high? don't get me wrong, I love the concept behind this product, and I'm sure the brackets are great quality, but $268 for the brackets, then the cost of the rear seat, and seat belts.....
Honestly, I guess it's a drop in the proverbial bucket considering.
