I can speak with experience when I say that a wedding ring does NOT fix that problem.

Assuming the stars align correctly, I'm planning on getting with my buddy who welds the weekend after I get these in and would like to get the sleeves in and ready to weld before I get there. I'm getting trigger happy on my axle build-up.
We are working on completing the instructions, so they are not ready to post at this time.

The install is pretty straight forward:

Put 44 Magnum sleeves in freezer without seals Allow 3 hours previous to install
Carefully lift vehicle, support securely
Remove tires
Remove caliper, rotors and uni bearing
Remove axle shafts
Drill some holes
Slide in 44 Magnum sleeves without seals
Let 44 Magnum sleeves warm to room temperature
Weld drilled holes and around end of tube, both sides
Install 44 Magnum seals
Install axle shafts
Install rotor, calipers and uni bearing, torque to factory specs
Install wheels, torque to factory specs

EVO...

Similar, except that Mt Logan uses the factory seals. I assume the EVO sleeved replace the factory seals. But I could be wrong and these are just supplemental seals.

How many labor hours are you running for your customers out there Mel? For reference to those of us who cant weld and will need a local shop to do this?

Thanks in advance.....

Sleeving axle tubes has been around for many years, most commonly used for trail fixes, correction and low tech axle narrowing and lengthening. Not something many people talked about. Since the JK and the couple dramatic pictures of the front axle tube fractures, the idea of sleeving the axle lends to being good insurance.

One of the issues with many versions of axle sleeves is that it prevents the use of secondary seals on the outer end of the axle.

Our EVO 44 Magnum sealed axle sleeves are designed to increase JK axle housing strength by 30% while incorporating dual seals to prevent debris from entering the axle tubes. Combining these two tried and true technologies will not only increase the strength of your axle housing, but will also help to prevent premature failure of the costly to replace inner axle seals.

The EVO 44 Magnum retains the factory seals and adds additional outer seals to prevent debris from entering the axle tube.

You still use factory seals.

Any recommendations on catching the metal shavings from drilling?

Also - Is there any need to take out the carrier? Would I be best to replace the inner seals while I am at it?

You guys rock!
