Pre 35s check list
Ok. So I'm upgrading to 35s Toyo Open Country MTs 35 x 12.5 x 18
I've seen conflicting info so I want to confirm a few things....
Will the 35 fit with the factory tire carrier and factory rear bumper?
*I know it's recommended and I do intend to upgrade to a rear bumper with tire carrier.
However, it may be 6mo-1yr before that actually happens.
So I'm REALLY hoping I can run it on the stock carrier/bumper until then.
FWIW ....
Its been a mall crwaler so far...
Just havent gotten her to the desert yet.
*piss poor excuse, bacuse I have a new gun the needs shooting too.
So I'm not worried about if wheeling it is an issue
For the moment its just the regular commute to work and run around town
So here's what I'm working with
07 JKU 4 door
Rock Star 18x9
TeraFlex 2.5 w shocks pkg from northridge

You may need spacers to avoid some rubbing at full turns. Also get rid of that plastic air dam in the front of your vehicle as it will just be in the way. Your current set up (lift and wheel combo) will handle the tire size fine. If you do venture off road you will rub the fenders if you are disconnected (sway bar) with this set up. I run a 3" lift and I rub now when I tuck the wheels from hard articulation. The spare will go on your carrier but it may not clear without a spare tire extension as it may hit the bumper like mine did. I would also recommend MBRP reinforcement brackects to help distribute the additional weight on the tail gate until you get a carrier. Other than that you should be good otherwise. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info.
IIRC , the 07 doesnt have TPMS.
So I think Im ok there.
Didnt think of speedo
Was hoping to avoid the mount re-locatpr attachment
and re-informent (thats tire carrier $$ lol)
Wondered about rubbing and spacers.
Will have to wait and see if it rubs or not.
Will I need to trim the pinch seam with 35s?
or is that just for bigger tires or no lift?

Pinch seams should be fine. I haven't trimmed mine and I have not had any issues and I have wheeled pretty hard. Also, I have the TPMS light on since I put my wheels on and frankly I don't even notice it anymore. The speedo is off by exactly 2 miles per hour and I haven't felt any difference with shifts feeling odd. I'd love a programmer to fix all that but for me that is also bumper money.

I have 35's on my jeep. To correct the speedo issue, get the AEV Procal. It is really easy to do and is done in litterally 30 seconds. I have the AEV Pintler Wheels with Nitto Trail Graplers and in order for me to get my spare on the back, i had to put a 1/2 wheel spacer. I haven't had any rubbing issues so you should be good to go.
