Default Power!!

What is everyone doing to add a little more power to there Jeeps? Just asking because mine was sluggish stock, one I added the 35's the winch bumper an rear tire career it adds weight?

I'm honestly thinking RIPP!

Regearing is the route to gaining back what you lost from larger tires.

Ripped is a fantastic idea. For those like me that don't have those funds yet a superchips is a must. A cold air intake and exhaust will also add a little.

1. Gears
2. Supercharger - In my case I chose Ripp.
3. Long tube headers - Ripp again.

This is what I did and she turns 35" tires easy.

Its expensive but you are correct. I installed a CAI and Exhaust both from banks, dynod my jeep and got about 25-25 hp and torgue gain over stock. It is noticable. I will regear to probably 4:56. I have a 2012 Rubicon manual on 35's and in order for me to regain the stock 4:10 feel, 4:56 is the way to go.

Looking forward to the day a programmer is available for the 2012.

CAI = waste of money, waste of time and in my case a hydro locked engine. :(. It adds nothing. There is no "cold air" under ur hood. Exhaust adds a little and makes it sound good.

I thought the same thing you did until I Dynod my jeep. I have the charts to prove it.



Stock 2012 puts out 187 to the rear wheel. Mine is putting out 205HP. When I ran it in 3rd gear I got consistant at 224 HP.

The jury is still out as to whether its worth the money. In fairness of full disclosure I had the Banks CAI and Exhaust on when I did the dyno run. That gain isnt just CAI. My guess is that CAI alone would probably show 3-5 HP gains.

HP is not cheap Torque is even more expensive. For $600 I got 17 HP gain assuming you discad the 224 HP run I had in 3rd gear. Thats $35 per horsey.
