Go "Tow".

Other than that, i just set the speedo with gears and tire size. I hated the Crawl mode off road. Didn't crawl any better, and try to take off across the dessert, or get on a road and try to take off. It had governors on it, and I had to pull over and reset the program. could not go over i think about 35 or 40 mph. Sucked.

What's tow mode octane?

I think it is supposed to be 91 or 93, but I run regular and have never had a pinging problem. I ran the higher Octane for a while but when gas hit $4 per gallon, I tried 87 and it was fine. Some say they are getting some pinging, but I have had no issues.

I got the tuner for mileage (work is 90 mi away), and set the Mileage XS tune. I've run 3 tanks since, and my mileage has gone DOWN to 14/15 from 16. I'll try setting the throttle response back to stock, and if that doesn't get me anything, then I have a lightly used Superchips for sale....

(2dr manual w/ steel bumpers, winch and a loaded enclosure in rear. ~300 extra lbs.)

I just got mine a couple days ago..........I have tried the standard 87 and 91 settings and was not overly impressed. Guess I will try "tow".

i changed mine from 93 to stock and then re-tuned to TOW. Very noticeable difference in shift points which is one of the reasons I bought it. I don't believe that the tow tune requires a higher octane fuel. I plan to go back to 87 unless i hear pinging.

ooooh, owwwww, uhhhhhh, tow mode is not good on the highway!!! I gave it a few hundred miles today and the jeep couldn't maintain 75 on a flat without downshifting from overdrive. At least with the 93 tune, it could handle a slight grade without downshifting. So, how about a 93 octane tow tune?

don't have the flashpag yet, but how easy and how quick is it to change from setting to setting...like pulling a trailer to camp and then switching over to a different setting for driving around?

do you leave it connected all the time or do you use it and then take it off and throw it in the console?
