I'm starting to hate mods...

Can you get a socket on it? An impact wrench won't have any issue moving it.

Or slide a pipe over the end of the wrench to give more leverage.

Going to hit it with heat on Thursday... I hope not to ruin the powder coat. I also hope this will allow me to adjust the sagging. I will be disappointed if it doesn't solve the issue...

Have you tried contacting PS about the issue? I doubt this is the first time it has happened. Maybe they can give some advice?!

The "nut" is aluminum and should have been antiseized when installed. If the driver side is sagging you will want to take the swing out off and shim it from the bottom.

Ohhh, there it is. No antiseize likely means galling. Or another way to say it, cold welding (common when mixing steel with SS or aluminum). Assuming that is the case, they have likely become permanently fused together. You''ll snap the bolt before the nut will come loose.

Hope that isn't the case for you though.

One trick is to actually try tightening the bolt a little. Takes just a fraction movement to break the fuse. Also hose it with PB Blaster.

Thanks for the feedback. I have the Jeep at the shop for ball joints, chromoly axles and gear oil change. They will try and get the cap off. I have no clue if anti-seize was used when it was put on.

I assume I can shim with some grade 8 washers... does that sound correct?
