id be more concerned of ice build up and snow build up then melting after harsh NH weather conditions (for me id prob make a canvas cover if I left it out )

I've run one of these for a few years now. Never an issue and really never seen any standing water on top of the engine.

The engine bay isn't exactly what you would call waterproof anyhow.

I've had several inches of snow and quite a bit of ice sitting on it as well. I would bet the louver is stronger than the paper thin sheet metal.

about ice build up not melting and dripping inward , we get 6 months of winter here lol

Its fine, it won't damage anything. Water gets in their when you drive anyways
